Communication, concerns and complaints – guidance for parents
We want to do the very best for your child but, as with any organisation, sometimes there may be a difference of opinion, problems or concerns about things that arise at school. We would always hope to resolve any issues informally using the process set out below.
1. The first person to share concerns with is your child’s class teacher. Staff will always make time to meet with parents after school to share concerns and answer questions. We find that in most cases this will resolve any issues.
In order to make an appointment to see one of the class teachers or share your concerns, please either speak to the school office or email office@st-helens.cambs.sch.uk. By following this route of communication, your query will be passed to the appropriate member of staff within 24hrs.
2. If you are still concerned after you have spoken with the class teacher, and don’t feel that the issue has been resolved, then an appointment can be made to speak with the Headteacher, Mrs Walker or Mr Robertson. Again, please make an appointment with the school office. This still forms part of the informal process for complaints/ concerns.
3. If, after going through all of the above processes, parents still have concerns and would like to take their complaint further, then they are able to make a formal complaint. This procedure is laid out in our Complaints Policy. There is a form to complete which will allow you to explain the nature of your complaint and to explain what you feel is needed to resolve it.
