Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education
At St. Helen’s Primary School we provide our children with a PSHCE curriculum that develops children’s self-worth, community spirit and maturity.
We aim, through our teaching, to enable children to become healthy, independent and responsible individuals who are aware of their rights and responsibilities. Our practices will teach children about the wider community as well as our school community. They will have an awareness of personal, social, cultural and moral choices and how these have an effect on our society. At St. Helen’s, our children are given a ‘voice’. They are encouraged to share opinions, views and suggestions within our School Council.
Our progression grid outlines how pupils’ knowledge and understanding of health and relationships develop over time, ensuring a coherent, age-appropriate PSHE curriculum that supports lifelong wellbeing.
